New Year Resolutions For Happiness

New Year Resolutions For Happiness.

As a practicing Personal Trainer in Plymouth Devon, I can certainly give you plenty of new year resolutions to choose from.
Many common new year resolutions revolve around diet and exercise in a bid to lead healthier lifestyles, especially after an overindulgent Christmas and New Years Holiday.

So instead of the normal new year resolutions that many people find so hard to keep whilst having little or no impact, here are a few new ideas.
These special new year resolutions are so different, not only will they transform your life, but they may just transform the lives of the other people around you:

5 New Year Resolutions.

Even though I could have listed 10 or more, here are just 5 new year resolutions that are worth applying, it would be great to get your feedback and thoughts about these.

#1 – Learn To Love Yourself.

This first new year resolution has nothing to do with vanity, but more to do with self worth.
True love of oneself is all about accepting yourself completely as you are today in the here and now, safe in the knowledge that you are perfect just as you are.
Try reminding yourself that your best is always good enough, which brings us onto my new years resolution #2, when things don’t go as planned, then learn to forgive yourself.

#2 – Learn To Forgive Yourself.

The thing about life is that we all make mistakes.  Mistakes give us a fantastic opportunity to learn new things, to help us understand things from a wider or different perspective from our own, and to grow as human beings.

The beauty about learning to forgive yourself is that as soon as you truly do, you will wish that you had done it sooner.  Learning to forgive yourself will also help you to learn to forgive other people too.
Emotions such as regret, shame and guilt are all destructive low vibrational emotions, so the sooner you learn how to forgive, the faster you will rid yourself of these burdens.
Learning to forgive yourself may take a little time, which brings me onto my new year resolution #3, be patient with yourself.

#3 – Be Patient With Yourself

Being patient with yourself is much easier said than done, much the same as all of these new year resolutions.
Try Remembering that life is not a race but a journey.  As Baz Luhrmann said in his beautiful song, everybody’s free to wear sunscreen, sometimes you are ahead, sometimes you are behind, but the race is only with yourself.
Being patient with yourself will also invariably help you to be patient with others, which is always a good thing.
Impatience can lead to frustration, so learn that true success is not a destination somewhere in the future, but to enjoy your life everyday, moment to moment, in the here and now.

#4 – Be Grateful

The great thing to understand about gratitude is that the more grateful you are about your life, the more things you will attract into your life to be grateful for.
There are many many things to be grateful for, and learning to be grateful about the positive things in your life will completely transform and increase your appreciation of everything that comes your way.

Comparison is gratitude’s greatest enemy, so try not to compare your life and possessions with other people.
More gratitude, especially for the little things in life will leave you more happy and appreciative for all the great things that you experience.

#5 – Use the Laws of Creation.

There are many great books on the popular subject of the laws of creation.
Personally I have read many books on this subject, including popular books like
Busting Loose From the Money Game, Ask and It Is Given, and Conversations with God Books 1-3
More and more people are changing their lives by understanding and using these laws to help shape and create their lives exactly as they desire.
It can be hard to believe in the laws of creation if you are new to them, but remembering that the universe will always give you exactly what you ask for is very important.  Say for example you say to the universe “I want more money”, then the universe will leave you in that exact state, wanting more money.  It is much more effective to say to the universe, “I have more money”.  The universe will then leave you again in that exact state, having more money.
Lastly remembering that all of creation starts with your thought, then words, then actions, so monitoring all three of these in line with what you wish to create is crucial to your results.

Do you like the above new year resolutions, what do you think are good new year resolutions?

What were your new years resolutions for this year and have you managed to stick to them?
